At Beverly Cakes, we pride ourselves on the quality and freshness of our products. Due to the perishable and customized nature of our baked goods, we handle refunds and exchanges differently than standard retail items.
1. General Policy on Perishable Goods
We do not accept returns or offer exchanges on any perishable goods, including cakes, cupcakes, and desserts, once they have been accepted and left our premises or the delivery location.
2. Quality and Design Discrepancies
We strive for 100% accuracy in filling your order. Our policy for issues related to quality or design is as follows:
A. Notification Upon Receipt
If you believe there is a problem with the quality, flavor, or design of your custom order, you must notify Beverly Cakes immediately upon receiving the product (i.e., before the driver leaves or before you leave our bakery).
- Proof Required: You must provide clear, close-up photographs of the product displaying the alleged fault.
- Resolution at the Time of Delivery/Pickup: If a major design or quality error is confirmed at the time of receipt, we will, at our discretion, offer one of the following:
- Immediate Correction (if feasible): Minor changes made on-site or a small reduction in price.
- Full or Partial Refund: If the product is unusable for the intended event, a full or partial refund or credit may be granted.
B. Issues Reported After Consumption
We cannot offer refunds or credits for products that have been consumed or partially consumed. Complaints regarding taste or quality must be reported immediately, and the majority of the product (at least 75%) must be returned to us for evaluation to be eligible for any consideration of a refund or credit.
3. Order Damage During Transit
- Beverly Cakes’ Delivery: If your cake is damaged significantly during transit by our staff, please notify us immediately upon delivery. We will work to find a satisfactory resolution, which may include a full or partial refund, or a store credit, depending on the severity of the damage.
- Customer Pickup: As stated in our Terms & Conditions, once the product is picked up from our premises, the responsibility for transport and condition transfers to the customer. We are not responsible for damage that occurs after the product leaves our hands. No refunds or exchanges will be provided for damage during customer transport.
4. Cancellation and Change Fees
- Refunds related to order cancellation are subject to the terms outlined in our Terms and Conditions (Section 1.C: Order Changes and Cancellations).
- Deposits or payments for custom orders are often non-refundable if the cancellation falls outside the specified time frame, as they cover design time, administrative costs, and material preparation.
5. Refund Processing
If a refund is approved by Beverly Cakes, the process is as follows:
- Method: Refunds will be processed back to the original method of payment used for the order.
- Timeframe: Please allow 10 to 14 business days for the refund to appear in your bank statement, depending on your bank’s processing times.
